Overnight Program Internship

Museum of Science, Boston

The Overnight Program at the Museum of Science inspires children to discover science in an educational and interactive way. Each year, about 22,000 participants visit the Museum through organizations like schools, and community and youth groups. Young people in grades 1- 7 and their chaperones come for special hands-on activities in the evening after the Museum closes, sleep in the Museum's Exhibit Halls and wake up to more science programming the next morning.

The Overnight Program Interns will assist with the preparation and delivery of interactive hands-on science, math and technology activities in the Museum exhibit halls during Overnights. Through working with Instructor staff and using the Overnight program curriculum, interns provide opportunities for Overnight participants to think like scientists as they explore the exhibit halls and participate in activities. The Overnight Program Teaching Assistant Interns will have an opportunity to learn more about an educational program in a museum environment, observe a variety of teaching and group management styles, and assist in developing inquiry based science activities for groups of different grade levels.
